Afternoon Arrive in Olbia and make your way to the port to board Running on Waves. After settling into your cabin, meet the crew and the other guests joining the voyage. Take time to explore the ship’s open decks, lounge areas and onboard facilities. Depending on your arrival time, you may also walk through Olbia’s historic centre or spend part of the afternoon beside the waterfront. Evening The journey begins with a welcome and safety briefing, followed by the first dinner on board. The crew introduces the itinerary and explains how shore visits, marine activities and life aboard the ship will be organised during the week. Running on Waves then leaves Sardinia and begins the passage across the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Sailing towards Capri Spend a full day aboard Running on Waves as the ship crosses from Sardinia towards the Bay of Naples. Explore the working side of the vessel during a tour of the ship, including the Bridge and Engine Room, or join marine activities such as sailor’s knot lessons, mast climbing, sail setting and an introduction to celestial navigation. Depending on sailing conditions, guests may also have an opportunity to take the wheel under the supervision of the Captain or Officers. The rest of the day is free for relaxing in the Jacuzzi, spending time on deck and enjoying uninterrupted views of the open sea.
Morning Go ashore to explore the island’s gardens, historic sites and panoramic walking routes. Visit the Gardens of Augustus, where terraces overlook Marina Piccola and the distinctive Faraglioni rock formations. Day Continue towards the Charterhouse of San Giacomo or walk through the elegant streets and viewpoints around Capri Town. Guests looking for a more active route can climb towards Villa Jovis, the remains of the Roman residence associated with Emperor Tiberius. There is also time to stop at a café, browse local shops or enjoy the island’s coastal scenery before returning to the ship. Evening Dinner is served on board as the cliffs of Capri disappear behind the stern.
Morning Begin the day among the Aeolian Islands as Running on Waves approaches Stromboli, an active volcano rising directly from the sea. Watch its dark slopes, black-sand coastline and white settlements from the open deck during the scenic passage. Day The voyage continues towards Lipari, the largest island in the Aeolian archipelago. Go ashore to explore Lipari Town, where narrow streets lead between small shops, cafés and restaurants. Continue towards the hilltop castle and archaeological area overlooking the harbour. The island’s museum and historic remains reveal its long connections with Greek and Roman civilisation, maritime trade and the volcanic resources of the archipelago. Evening Return to Running on Waves for dinner and time on deck. The ship leaves the Aeolian Islands and continues towards the eastern coast of Sicily.
Morning Wake as Running on Waves approaches Taormina, a historic town built approximately 200 metres above the Ionian Sea. Breakfast is served on board with views of the Sicilian coastline and, in clear conditions, Mount Etna. Day Go ashore to explore Taormina’s historic centre. Walk along Corso Umberto, through stone gateways and lively squares, stopping at panoramic terraces overlooking the coast. Visit the Ancient Theatre of Taormina, a Greek-Roman monument set against views of the sea and Mount Etna. There is also time to explore local shops, gardens and cafés before returning to the ship. Evening Dinner is served on board as Running on Waves leaves Sicily and begins the longer crossing towards Greece.

Morning After breakfast, spend the first half of the day surrounded by the island’s vineyards, green hills and exceptionally clear turquoise water. Swim, snorkel or explore the coast by kayak. Depending on the anchorage and sea conditions, guests can enter the water directly from the ship, use the water slide or relax on deck beside the island’s pale shores. Day Go ashore to explore one of the island’s harbour settlements. Gaios, the main town, lies behind two green islets and offers a compact waterfront lined with cafés, tavernas and traditional houses. Spend time walking through the narrow streets, browsing local shops or relaxing beside the harbour. Evening Return to Running on Waves for the farewell dinner. Spend the final evening on deck as the ship leaves Paxi and begins the short passage towards Corfu.
Morning Enjoy a final breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the crew and the guests who have shared the journey. Disembarkation marks the end of the cruise. Guests staying longer can continue towards Corfu Old Town, explore its Venetian fortifications and shaded streets or spend another day beside the Ionian Sea.
