Roles and operational decisions
CabinJoin provides a route-planning estimate, a focused captain-matching workflow, private collaboration tools and payment technology. CabinJoin is not the carrier, yacht operator, skipper, crew employer or organiser of the delivery. The assigned captain and the owner contract directly for the actual delivery service and each remains responsible for their own legal, insurance, safety, vessel, crew and navigation obligations.
Route, weather and seasonal data are planning inputs only. They are not a safety clearance, voyage plan, warranty of conditions or an instruction to depart. The assigned captain, port authority and applicable law decide whether, when and how a passage can proceed.
Estimate and captain matching
The displayed route, duration, crew requirement, risk score and price are an indicative estimate created from the disclosed inputs and the active commercial policy. They can change if the route, dates, yacht facts or agreed service change. No captain is reserved until an eligible captain accepts and the owner confirms the final price.
After a matching deposit is paid, CabinJoin invites up to 20 relevant verified captains in the first wave. Further eligible waves may open automatically if no captain accepts. A matching invitation is not an employment offer, voyage order or guarantee that a captain will accept.
Deposit, final payment and refunds
The matching deposit is a separately disclosed CabinJoin platform fee for opening and operating the captain-matching workflow. It is credited against CabinJoin’s disclosed platform fee and is not payment of the captain’s delivery principal. The payment screen shows its amount, currency and payment obligation before checkout.
The captain’s delivery principal becomes payable only after a named captain has accepted and the owner has confirmed the final price. It is collected through the assigned captain’s connected Stripe account. Questions or requests about a CabinJoin-issued matching-fee payment must be sent with the delivery reference to [email protected]. Any refund is assessed against the accepted transaction record and mandatory law and, when approved, is returned to the original payment method. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Documents, tracking and disputes
The workspace may hold private messages, documents and captain-provided progress updates for the parties to the delivery. They are not independent verification by CabinJoin and should not be used as an emergency or distress channel. For an immediate safety issue, contact emergency services, the vessel operator, harbour authority or other competent authority.
Platform, matching-fee, account, privacy or payment-instruction complaints go to CabinJoin. A dispute about the actual delivery, navigation, vessel condition, crew conduct, delay, cancellation, accident or service performance goes first to the owner and assigned captain. CabinJoin can retain platform evidence and route the complaint without accepting responsibility for the delivery service.
